HOW OUR ENGLISH SPEAKING COURSES ARE DESIGNED Divider

Unique and effective English Speaking courses in the Fintech Sector

Divider

We prioritise the reason why, and how to enable people to use it to do their jobs better as quickly as possible.

Whilst improving English speaking skills is a wonderful thing to have and aspire to for most people, we are not doing it for that reason! We want to use what people already have by way of language skill and knowledge (however good of poor) and enhance it so that executives can be genuinely effective sooner and get the job done. Or in other words hit the ground running! We do this by using a unique and engaging methodology that allows key learnings from our English speaking courses to be deployed sooner for the job in hand be it a presentation, call, board meeting, negotiation, or conference presentation. We do this by using the slightly unconventional but intrinsically realistic way of learning a language for purpose. And we do it in a way that is both relevant and engaging. This is what makes our courses sustainable.

What is the TLG English Speaking Course Methodology?

Reflecting the reality of cross-border business

Our English speaking courses reflect everyday business scenarios and tasks, so the brain gets accustomed to using English in realistic and high-stakes situations.

For example, at the start of a TLG conference call lesson, there’s no warm-up period. From the second a student logs on, they’re expected to engage as if it were an actual meeting, introducing the agenda and driving it forward. Because the lesson replicates the pressure of a real-life business situation, students build up their neurological muscle memory. Importantly, students are marked based on how effectively they communicate – not on whether they chose the correct modal verb or conjugation. This helps overcome psychological barriers associated with making small mistakes with no actual impact on business relationships.

A tangible impact on business value

“Since we started attending TLG courses, our business with foreign companies has more than tripled. TLG is not only a partner, it’s part of our value chain,” said one equity partner Employees’ improvement was massive and tangible,” according to a fintech CFO. We receive feedback like this time and time again because the TLG English speaking course methodology delivers where traditional training approaches fall short. It’s scientific, scalable and proven, so we’re in the unique position of being able to guarantee results. When we talk about results, we’re not just talking about test scores or CEF levels, we’re talking about tangible business benefits. Because, thanks to the English capabilities developed with the TLG methodology,  professionals are successfully building bonds, progressing careers, winning contracts and driving investment.

TLG is not about ‘learning a language.’ It’s about effective communication: adopting Anglo-Saxon culture, style and behavior. It’s a real-life experience. Our meetings are about my transition as an Italian English speaker to a more natural English communicator. Courses are not focused on the academic level of our staff, but on the real everyday needs of our people, depending on the level of international exposure within the organisation.

TLG is always professional, reliable and precise. Absolute flexibility in terms of lesson scheduling is a huge plus. I appreciate that courses are always tailored to the skills, level and ability of every student: TLG continues to involve both junior and senior staff with the same passion and dedication. This approach makes learning not only possible, but also enjoyable.

TLG is one of the best English schools in Milan. The organization of the lessons is compatible with the working day, meaning that you can do your lesson from your office, during your work time. The trainers help you with the real problems you experience every day in your work, for example writing emails, reviewing documents and discussing business matters in English. I've had a lot of English lessons in my life, but I've seen the most improvement while being on TLG's program.

In my opinion, there are two kinds of English schools. Those which teach you English, and those which truly make you learn English. The Language Grid is definitely one of the very few English schools which belong to the second category. Extremely skilled teachers, passionate about their job. Programs totally focused and designed, to suit each student. Attention to every detail. Timely feedback on the student’s performance. The Language Grid... IS THE English school!
